Four Weeks of Probiotic Supplementation Alters the Metabolic Perturbations Induced by Marathon Running: Insight from Metabolomics

چکیده
Few data are available that describe how probiotics influence systemic metabolism during endurance exercise. Metabolomic profiling of athletes will elucidate mechanisms by which may confer benefits to the athlete. In this study, twenty-four runners (20 male, 4 female) were block randomised into two groups using a double-blind matched-pairs design according their most recent Marathon performance. Runners assigned 28-days supplementation with multi-strain probiotic (PRO) or placebo (PLB). Following supplementation, performed competitive track race. Venous blood samples and muscle biopsies (vastus lateralis) collected on morning race immediately post-race. Samples subsequently analysed untargeted 1H-NMR metabolomics. Principal component analysis (PCA) identified greater difference in post-Marathon serum metabolome PLB group vs. PRO. Univariate tests 17 non-overlapped metabolites PLB, whereas only seven By building PLS-DA model components, we revealed combinations able discriminate between PRO post-Marathon. PCA demonstrated no discernible treatment groups. conclusion, alters metabolic perturbations induced Marathon. Such findings be related maintaining integrity gut

Identifying the metabolic perturbations in earthworm induced by cypermethrin using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry based metabolomics
Globally, cypermethrin is one of the most widely used synthetic pyrethroid for agricultural and domestic purposes. Most part of the pesticides used in the agriculture ends up as residues in the soil, making soil dwelling organisms, especially earthworms more susceptible to pesticide intoxication. Cypermethrin is known to be a neurotoxicant to many model organisms, including mammals and insects,...
متن کاملMetabolomics Reveals Broad-Scale Metabolic Perturbations in Hyperglycemic Mothers during Pregnancy Running title: Metabolomics of hyperglycemic pregnancy Key terms: metabolomics; hyperglycemia; pregnancy
Objective: To characterize metabolites across the range of maternal glucose by comparing metabolomic profiles of mothers with high and low fasting plasma glucose (FPG). Research Design and Methods: We compared fasting serum from an oral glucose-tolerance test at ~28 weeks’ gestation from 67 Northern European ancestry mothers from the Hyperglycemia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcome (HAPO) Study with...
متن کاملRegulation of myoblast differentiation by metabolic perturbations induced by metformin
The metabolic perturbation caused by calorie restriction enhances muscle repair by playing a critical role in regulating satellite cell availability and activity in the muscles of young and old mice. To clarify the underlying mechanisms we asked whether myoblast replication and differentiation are affected by metformin, a calorie restriction-mimicking drug. C2C12, a mouse myoblast cell line, re...
